Sun Life Malaysia (Sun Life) has opened its first branch in Kuching to bring better financial protection to clients in Sarawak and a way of speeding up its growth in East Malaysia.
Sun Life Chief Executive Officer, President and Country Head Raymond Lew said the new branch would drive the company’s aim of helping all Malaysians build financial security and healthy lives.
“The expansion of Sun Life Malaysia into Kuching, Sarawak reflects our commitment to support locals there towards securing financial peace-of-mind.
“Through this office, we can better respond to local market needs by customising our insurance and takaful solutions,” he said.
At the opening ceremony, Lew highlighted the company’s growth strategy.
“With Sarawak’s population of 2.7 million and projected growth rate of 5% to 6% this year, the new office serves as our launchpad to increase Sun Life’s presence in the region,” he said.
The Kuching office will support customers by addressing product queries, renewals, claims, as well as the handling of submission and collection of documents.
Experienced financial planners will also be on hand to advise clients on investment and retirement planning.
For Sun Life’s advisers, the Kuching branch will provide resources, tools and training to assist them in meeting work targets.
“We believe our advisers play a critical role and hence, offering a space for collaboration is key to supporting our team,” said Mr Lew.
The Kuching office, which spans 0.27ha, also houses training rooms and discussion areas, reported Insurance Business.
