Bharti AXA Life Insurance has appointed Parag Raja as managing director and CEO. Prior to this appointment, Mr Raja was the chief distribution officer at Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance (ABSLI).
He will succeed Vikas Seth, who was chief executive of Bharti AXA Life Insurance for the past two-and-a-half years, after April 30, subject to regulatory approvals.
Mr Raja has a total work experience of nearly 21 years, including 19 years in the life insurance industry in India.
Before ABSLI, he was one of the founding members of Max Life Insurance and associated with the company for 15 years. Apart from driving many key projects successfully, he worked across Max Life’s agency and bancassurance channels. Earlier, he also worked with ICICI Bank and ANZ Grindlays Bank.
Bharti AXA Life Insurance was formed and commenced business operations in 2006. Bharti AXA brings together strong financial expertise of the Paris-headquartered AXA Group and Bharti Enterprises - one of India's leading business groups with interests in Telecom, agricultural business and financial services. Presently, the joint venture has a 51% stake from Bharti Group and 49% stake from AXA, in line with the regulatory framework on ownership in the Insurance sector.
