With stringent measures in place to ensure people's health are not compromised, it is heartening to see agents and advisers from the insurance industry adapt to continue bridging the protection gap of the community and society they're in.
As we prepare to welcome the winners of the 5th Asia Trusted Life Agents and Advisers Awards (“ATLAA”), here’s a recollection of the winners from the 4th ATLAA who were crowned during the presentation ceremony dinner in Bangkok on the 18 July 2019.

Rookie Insurance Agent of the Year- Shiu Ling Po, AIA International, Hong Kong
Giving up his highly-respected academic career to join the industry, this former university professor’s flying start to his insurance career and his efforts in raising the image of the industry make him a worthy winner.
Insurance Agent of the Year- Chia-Chun Liu, Cathay Life, Taiwan
For setting an example for fellow practitioners through outstanding achievements in both productivity as the top agent in the company, and quality of business with the highest persistency rate and for her active contributions to society.
Financial Adviser of the Year- Isabelle Oh Chin Ian, AIA Financial Advisers, Singapore
For being a living example of leading a simple and contented lifestyle to educate her clients on financial planning and the importance of protection and saving for their retirement, as well as actively inspiring new advisers on a one-to-one basis on the real purpose of this career.
Rookie Insurance Agency Leader of the Year- Jason Chu, Sun Life Hong Kong
For leading a Gen Y team to become one of the youngest agency leaders amongst the top 3% in his company, as well as continuing to lead by example as a Court of the Table producer.
Insurance Agency Leader of the Year- Wave Chow Wing Kai, AIA International, Hong Kong
For leading by example as a Million Dollar Round Table Honor Roll and Life member, guiding his organisation with 144 members achieving MDRT or above, and putting together a professional team where 96% possess at least a bachelor degree.
Digital Agency Leader of the Year- Calvin Lee, AXA Insurance, Singapore
For successfully adapting to the digital world by developing systems to prospect, where 40% of the agency’s sales leads are generated through online platforms, and recruit, where 70% of the group’s advisers are recruited through social media.
Inspirational Agency Leader of the Year-Susanna Chan, Sun Life Hong Kong
For her work in promoting a charitable spirit across the industry, and for inspiring youths of a non-governmental organisation through helping them discover their real self, potential, and confidence.
Lifetime Achievement- Dr Mary Chen Ming Li, AIA Singapore
An international icon of the insurance industry with a remarkable track record of awards and trailblazing over close to 40 years of an illustrious career.
InsurTech of the the Year- GoalsMapper, Singapore
For helping its users build trusted relationships with their clients through visualisation of their financial status and stress testing of their portfolio.
Bank Partner of the Year- Techcombank, Vietnam
For the long-running and deep collaboration in its partnership with Manulife Vietnam which has resulted in astonishing results through the aligned vision and strategy of placing the customer first.
Young Executive of the Year- Sabrina Ong, AIA Financial Indonesia
For her role in helping to set up the company’s business in Cambodia with the country’s first full-time professional agency force focusing on protection solutions and the development of local executive talent.
Executive Champion of the Year- Sara Lamsam, Muang Thai Life, Thailand
Throughout his more than 26 years of experience in the insurance industry, he has been building a solid foundation for the agency channel even as the company pursues digital innovation and transformation.
Insurance Company of the Year- AIA, Singapore
For its commitment to future-proof and empower its agents to meet head-on the evolving needs of customers, for inspiring its agents to lead a healthy lifestyle to become health ambassadors, and for embedding a culture of customer centricity from within.
