The 5th Asia Trusted Life Agents & Advisers Awards saw some 250 submissions from over 40 companies and 12 markets - Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam - despite the current challenging situation as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Organised by Asia Insurance Review and Asia Advisers Network with co-organiser LIMRA and strategic partner AIA, the Awards recognises the best in life insurance agency and advisory across the region.
The Awards consists of a rigorous two-stage and independently-audited judging process with an esteemed panel of 30 judges comprised of CEOs, senior executives, heads of associations and industry experts. The judging process is carried out under the supervision of independent auditor EY.
The first round of judging has begun with judges assessing and scoring the entries to shortlist finalists. The second round of judging is scheduled for 15 May 2020, where judges will now meet virtually for a robust discussion before selecting winners by secret ballot.
The winners will be revealed only on 27 July in a virtual Awards night.
Mr Sivam Subramaniam, Editor-in-Chief, Asia Insurance Review, said, “We are heartened by the 250 entries received even in such challenging times. It truly demonstrates the resilience of the industry and everyone that is part of it. It is especially in a time like this that we must applaud the heroes and heroines of the insurance industry who make society better. I salute AIA for having shared our vision and supported the Awards as a Strategic Partner all these years.”
Mr Benjamin Ang, Editor, Asia Advisers Network, said, “Unprecedented times call for creative solutions. The judging day and Awards Night will be held virtually for the first time. We are committed to making it a memorable night, and we count on your continued support to make this Awards platform the rallying force of the industry, an industry that we’re all proud of in helping to protect families and narrow society’s protection gaps.”
In addition to the Awards night, a virtual learning festival will be held to equip and empower financial practitioners to survive and thrive in the current environment.
