Thailand: Krungthai-AXA Life Insurance launches 123 critical illness coverage plan

| 11 Nov 2025

Krungthai-AXA Life Insurance has launched new product, "CI 123: Complete Coverage for All Critical Illnesses," which provides comprehensive coverage for up to 123 critical illnesses, including popular, specialised, and often overlooked conditions such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease, and brain disease. The coverage ranges from pre-incident to severe stages.

This is in response to statistics which show that Thailand faces health challenges from serious diseases. According to the National Cancer Institute, approximately 140,000 new Thais are diagnosed with cancer each year, and approximately 83,000 die from it, representing a 60% rate, or an average of 227 people per day.

Furthermore, the average life expectancy of Thais is 78 years, while the healthy life expectancy is 65-70 years, meaning that the healthy lifespan is about 10 years shorter than the life expectancy.

As such, the company has developed the CI 123 product to address the growing need for critical illness coverage and meet the needs of a diverse customer base, including those with regular incomes, families, and freelancers seeking comprehensive critical illness coverage from pre-onset to severe stages.

The features of the product include:

  • Coverage of up to 123 serious illnesses, providing complete coverage for popular illnesses, specialized illnesses, and illnesses that are often overlooked, such as cancer and tumours, respiratory illnesses, cardiovascular disease, and brain disease;
  • Coverage from the pre-onset stage, no need to wait for a serious illness to occur with pre-onset critical illness coverage;
  • Coverage of critical illnesses under special conditions, including advanced treatment methods or complex treatments using advanced medical technology; and
  • Coverage in the event of a crisis or emergency from both emerging diseases and serious accidents.
